First Meeting - Feb. 13

Hey Guys-

Well, were finally having our first MarqMug meeting. Marquette’s own Mac Users Group! We will be covering a lot of things (some listed below) as well as answering your questions. We also have some iMacs available to play around on if you don’t have a Mac or you didn’t bring yours.

The facts:

• Wednesday (February 13th)
• Cudahy Rm. 120
• 7:00 pm

Here’s what we’ll be covering:

• Apple’s new operating system – Mac OS X Leopard
• We’ll tell you what you need to know as well as where you can get it for a discount.
• Overview of new Apple products
• Showing you how to setup Apple’s Mail application so you can check and send mail without having to use the eMarq web interface
• Q & A Session about anything Apple (iPods, Macs, Software, etc.)

If you guys have any ideas for demos, tricks, or tips that you want to see just shoot one of us an e-mail.

We had a great turn out at both fall and winter o-fests. We hope to see all of you at the meeting!

Status Update

I know many of you are wondering when our first meeting is going to be–So here’s an update on what we’re doing.

We’re officially registered with Apple as a user group, but we’re just in the “getting started” category, so we’re unable to order demo materials and stuff for us to showcase, so it makes our meetings a bit harder to conduct. We’re trying to get into the service to order said materials, but have yet been unsuccessful.

However, we will soon have an introductory meeting to get to know everyone who is interested and go from there.
